How To Apply Custom Vinyl

Business , Vinyl • Jan 15, 2017

Nothing worse than the excitement over a new purchase! You get it home, open it up and OOPS! You’ve accidentally ruined it. We have all been there. The majority of our products here at GOD GIVE ME TRUTH come with the vinyl already properly applied but we also sell custom vinyl decals too! This means you can have a decal designed to your specifications. Learning how to apply the decal is important or you’ve essentially thrown away your money.

Your decal comes with transfer tape applied to help you easily install it. Because of this your decal should be applied as soon as possible to prevent any transfer issues from the tape to your product of choice. Car decals should be applied only to surfaces with temperatures between 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and should be allowed to cure for 24 hours before getting wet.

STEP ONE: Rub the decal to be sure the transfer tape is properly adhered. Use a popsicle stick, credit card, etc. to ensure that the property amount of pressure is applied.

STEP TWO: Clean and dry the desired application area. Decals will stick best to clean and smooth services. Rubbing alcohol is recommended. Let dry!

STEP THREE: Remove the paper backing (generally blue) slowly to make sure the vinyl stays adhered to the transparent transfer tape.

STEP FOUR: Carefully position the vinyl decal to the desired area. GO SLOW. Once the vinyl sticks it will be nearly impossible to reposition without destroying it. Again, take your time!

STEP FIVE: Rub the vinyl from side to side to eliminate any air bubbles. If the decal is large it’s best to work your pressure from the middle of the decal to the outside to push out the air bubbles.

STEP SIX: Use a hard edged object like a credit card or popsicle stick to make sure that the entire vinyl decal fully adhered to the surface. Simply apply pressure back and forth. You cannot hurt the vinyl while the transfer tape is still attached. Pay extra attention to small letters.

STEP SEVEN: SLOWLY remove the transfer tape. Make sure that no part of the vinyl remains on the transfer tape. If it does, simply lay it back down and apply more pressure. If you have a lot of letters it can take some time and patience.

STEP EIGHT: Check for air bubbles. In most cases small bubbles can be worked to the edge of the decal using the same tool you used in step six. If large bubbles remain, give a day or so for them to disappear on their own. If they do not, turn on your defroster (if its a car decal) or apply heat to the vinyl using a blow dryer and very gently work out the bubble (remember, your transfer tape is gone). If that does not work, a small pin can be used to pop the hole and allow out the air. The hole will not be visible your using a small enough needle.

Remember, if you get stuck run into issues or just have questions REACH OUT VIA OUR CONTACT FORM for assistance. Once applied the decal cannot be removed so it’s crucial that you take your time and apply correctly. If done right the decal will last as long as stated when purchasing the product. I hope this helps!

Christmas 2014 Is Coming!

Seems crazy to even say that Christmas is roughly a month away. A MONTH! I am not at all prepared. I’m trying though so hopefully that at least counts for something. One thing that I really wanted us to do this year was make our own christmas cards. I spent a couple months slowly gathering supplies to create the cards and even signed us up for a class at Studio Calico. I wanted us to be ready.

Well, the class was a bust. Nothing against Studio Calico but i just didn’t feel like I had the tools to be making the cards that they were showing us how to make. I have A TON of craft stuff due to my Project Life obsession but I don’t have a lot of the more expensive tools such as a die cutter. I felt like a lot of those tutorials really focused on having a die cutter so that was of course of no use to me.

A lot of cards turned out beautiful. Their are a lot of really neat crafting supplies that come out during the holidays. My favorite line by far for every holiday is Martha Stewart. I just think that all of her crafting material is top notch. It tends to be a bit on the pricey side but their is always a sale and every craft store tends to constantly have some sort of coupon available (except for Pat Catans so I tend to avoid them :/).

I went to Michaels and Pat Catans yesterday. Pat Catans sent me a 15% off coupon and their holiday merchandise was 40% off for a total of 55% off my holiday purchase. As much as I avoid going to Catan’s due to the sending out coupons-once-per-year policy they always have all of the Martha Stewart products. Above is about half of what I actually bought (but the only Martha products).  I only spent around $17 total and got a ton of stickers. I’m good on just about everything else but I tend to use a ton of stickers so it was worth the small hall in the end.

I mean.. honestly.. how amazing are the stars above?! I just couldn’t pass that up. During Valentines Day one thing I really enjoyed using where some postage stamp-style stickers she released. I saw them (below) for Christmas and I could not pass them up. We have a couple of more Christmas cards to make and I can think of a million ways to use them. You get A TON in each package so i’ll have enough left over to use them in my Project Life book. The stickers (above) are also a bit raised so you get that three dimensional look to the photos in Project Life. A bit more appeasing to the eye!

One other thing i’m working on is a December Daily book for this year. I haven’t really put anything together because i’m debating on how I want to make it work. Their are so many options but I struggle because I feel like we don’t always have enough to document on a regular basis. For example – I know that a lot of people due two pages in their Project Life book for each week. I generally tend to leads toward one unless something significant is happening. Aside from work their isn’t too much that goes on every week of the year. I don’t have kids so their just isn’t anything to document.

Speaking of work, the holiday events are all starting! I LOVE IT! So many great things that go on from parties, cookie baking, and of course just the overall end of year celebration (i work in finance, you must celebrate the year-end). I work as an administrative assistant so I get to assist with a lot of the planning. Looking forward to every last bit of it!

We got a good dropping of snow this week! Enough to cover everything but still keep the roads clear. I don’t remember all to much snow coming in November in past years. I saw on the weather forecast that the majority of the snow will melt before Thanksgiving and then being to snow again on Thanksgiving DayGreat… just what we want for Black Friday shopping! Madness, crazy people, and snow covered roads, what a great combination.

Anybody have any exciting plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday? Do you do Black Friday shopping?

Volunteer Day

Business , Personal • May 1, 2014

I don’t feel like there is any better feeling than giving back to the community! I wish i had the time (and i admit it, energy) to do SO MUCH MORE. It is always an amazingly rewarding experience. I admit that at the end of the day there is nobody that I can blame besides myself but that is one thing I really want to change over the rest of 2014.

I work for a company that really supports the growth of their local communities. They encourage each of us to get out, volunteer, and they allow us to do it while getting paid! You can’t beat that?! Each year we have two major events that they really encourage as many of us that can get out and help to do so. As an administrative assistant there aren’t any places that i usually have to be so it works out for me to attend. We do a joint venture with out local food bank during the annual HARVEST FOR HUNGER activities and then we do quiet a bit with UNITED WAY a couple of times throughout the year. Our main event helping clean up the community in the summer.

I spent a lot of my time wrapped up in work, friends, family, fanlistings, and various other things that although they are important to me there really are so many much more important things that we could be worrying about. Now – i’m not out of touch with reality. I can’t stop doing everything that i enjoy to spend all my time volunteering but giving at least an evening or afternoon a month won’t hurt.

I’ve applied to volunteer at our gay network in the local community but i never hear back. I got a letter a couple of months back stating that they were being taken over by a new group and that the volunteer database would be cleaned end up. Well.. that never happened. I sent a response saying how i was willing to participate and my organization was in full support. A gentleman responded and said that people would be following up and of course nobody did.

Does anybody else volunteer on a regular basis?

Balancing

Business , Personal , Random • Apr 26, 2014

Everything in life is simply one big BALANCING ACT. I feel like i’m constantly trying to balance everything that goes on in my life. Personal items, work items, and all of those items that feel in between the two. Bills to pay, websites to update, events to attend, contests to create, and a large home to clean and care for.

Initially as I write this i’m feeling a bit like i’m complaining (thats what I started out intending to do.. honestly) but i’m truly not. I’m speaking truth. To be successful in anything that you do it’s all about the balancing. Some people call it multi-tasking or prioritizing but lets be honest your balancing. Juggling multiple events and activities is what makes you look and appear like you know what you are doing.

My new position not new position as an Administrative Assistant within my organization has spent the last two months putting me to this realization. I am loving this new position and all the benefits/perks that go along with it but it’s been a bit more of a challenge than I honestly was expecting it be. I would say it’s a challenge that i handle well and i’m loving! I work for a large back and get the pleasure of supporting 3 managers. I’m always on my toes!

How do YOU balance?

Last Day of Recovery

Had surgery last Monday to repair an inguinal hernia on my left side. It’s been nice to relax and see some movies but tomorrow it’s time to get back to the real world!
